Lord of the Lost - “TOVR NOIR” Tour - Support: League of Distortion & Dogma

The German dark-rock band LORD OF THE LOST, who gained worldwide popularity after the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, have finally thrilled the Spanish fandom with their double-header performance in two major cities. Hitting Madrid’s Revi Live on April 14 and Barcelona's Salamandra on April 15, they brought two unforgettable shows in support of their new ‘OPVS NOIR’ trilogy.

The band’s style has significantly changed since their previous tour in 2024: the “Dark Era” has transformed not only the way they sound but also the way they look - their glitter glam rock outfits evolved into stylish dark gothic dress-code. But let’s dive into those nights and look closely at the stage. The show began with two strong support acts: LEAGUE OF DISTORTION, a young modern Metal band from Germany, and a provocative Brazilian all-female Rock / Metal band DOGMA, known for their extravagant nun-expired costumes and dark stage make-up.

League of Distortion

LEAGUE OF DISTORTION delivered a striking performance with heavy guitar riffs and powerful vocals of Anna Brunner. When they finished the performance, the audience was already in the right mood and welcomed DOGMA with wild excitement.

Dogma

Lilith, Nixe, Lamia, Ruskalka, and Abrahel captivated the audience with their theatrical stage presence, leaving people wanting more. By the end of their set, the crowd was on fire and could hardly wait for LORD OF THE LOST to take the stage.

Lord of the Lost

Suddenly, the lights went off, the opening notes of ‘Kill the Lights’ filled the concert hall, and the first silhouettes of the musicians emerged on stage, making the audience hold their breath in anticipation. It felt like no one was breathing, including myself. And when the frontman Chris Harms stepped out of the darkness and his powerful voice echoed through the speakers, the crowd just erupted like fireworks.

Later on, the atmosphere was getting more and more intense during the new hit ‘My Funeral’. The concert hall was filled with a bright pink glow making everyone think of the newly released video. The audience, primarily dressed in dark colours, was screaming out loud the lyrics “Black is my happy colour... Wear pink to my funeral!”, creating one of the loudest singalongs of the night. It seemed to me that when singing along to the next song - ‘Damage’ - the fans lost their self-control in pure euphoria, fully immersing themselves in the concert vibe.

The band members interacted with the fans all the time, making intense eye contact, and in the middle of the show, Chris playfully tossed a small cute axoLOTL toy into the crowd (well, somebody got incredibly lucky that night) and of course he stepped into the crowd to sing one of the most emotional parts of ‘Loreley’ with fans, holding somebody’s hand and demanding “Scream for me!” from the crowd.

During those two nights, we were enjoying newly released songs like ‘I will die in it’, ‘Things we do for love’, ‘Please Break the Silence’ with brilliant Anna Brunner, as well as the hits like ‘Drag Me to Hell’, ‘Blood and Glitter’, ‘Forever Lost’, ‘Priest’, ‘On This Rock I Will Build My Church’ and many more. Overall, the band played 22 songs during the show - they’re one of the rare bands who give their all to their audience. It is remarkable that they never come back for an encore - they just play everything they prepared for their guests and then disappear behind the curtain with a sense of accomplishment.

Of course we couldn’t do without the “Wall of Death” to the legendary cover version of KÄÄRIJÄ’s Eurovision anthem ‘Cha Cha Cha’ - LOTL fans from all over the world are just crazy about the way Chris performs it, and the Spanish audience proved it once again.

These two shows - each with its unique energy and atmosphere - were full of dozens of unforgettable moments - I described just a few of them. The performances of LORD OF THE LOST aren’t just concerts - they’re a mix of excitement, happiness, passion, drive, and wild emotions with a flavour of total chaos, and all this makes them one of the best experiences in the life of every lostie.
