After two and a half decades of redefining the sound of dark emotional electronica, DIORAMA return to Leipzig’s legendary UT Connewitz to continue their journey under the banner “A Substitute for Light.”
Known for their poetic depth and cinematic sound design, the band - led by Torben Wendt - stands among the most distinctive names in the European Dark Wave scene. Their concerts are never mere performances but immersive experiences: a delicate balance of euphoria and melancholy, of pulse and poetry.
With a discography spanning over ten studio albums, DIORAMA’s work blends Dark Wave, Electronica, and Alternative Pop into soundscapes that feel intimate yet grand. Tracks like ‘Synthesize Me’, ‘Erase Me’, or ‘Avatars’ have long become club anthems, while their more reflective pieces expose a raw, human fragility. Torben Wendt’s haunting vocals, Zura Dzagnidze’s expressive guitar work, Felix Marc’s atmospheric keys, and Markus Halter’s precise percussion together form a sound both elegant and intense - one that transforms introspection into rhythm.
The 2025/2026 tour brings this vision to the stage again - light and shadow entwined, emotion sharpened through sound. DIORAMA’s live shows are renowned for their emotional precision and visual strength: minimalist yet charged, intimate yet transcendent. As special guest, SKUPPIN from Chemnitz will open the evening with his unique blend of Neue Deutsche Welle and 80s-inspired Synth Pop. His sound recalls the early works of DEPECHE MODE and KRAFTWERK - sleek, cold, but with a deeply human pulse. Joined on stage by Antonia and Ricky on bass, keyboard, and synths, SKUPPIN brings an emotional tension between vulnerability and strength, inviting the audience into a world where nostalgia meets new sonic architecture.
