On 22 August 2025, KETTCAR will be coming to Junkyard Dortmund for an exclusive open-air concert. The Hamburg Indie Rock icons, known for their clever lyrics and catchy melodies, stand for timeless anthems that balance between melancholy and hope. After sold-out tours and celebrated festival appearances, this open-air event promises to be an absolute highlight of the summer.
KETTCAR - Indie Rock with attitude. Since their formation in 2001, KETTCAR have been one of the defining bands of the German Indie scene. Their debut album ‘Du und wieviel von deinen Freunden’ quickly became a classic, and songs like ‘Landungsbrücken raus’ and ‘Balkon gegenüber’ are still an integral part of many playlists today. With albums such as ‘Sylt’ and ‘Ich vs. Wir’, they continued to develop musically without forgetting their roots. Their mixture of melodic Guitar Rock, thought-provoking lyrics and social relevance has earned them a loyal fan base.
After their last studio album ‘Gute Laune ungerecht verteilt’, KETTCAR are now returning to the stage with new songs and old classics - and at one of the Ruhr region’s most exciting open-air venues, the Junkyard Dortmund. It is much more than just a concert venue - the former scrapyard site has developed into one of the coolest open-air locations in the Ruhr region in recent years. With its raw industrial charm, relaxed beer garden flair and unmistakable atmosphere, the Junkyard offers the perfect backdrop for a KETTCAR concert in the open air.
