So here is a new EP by grand rockers DAUGHTRY. But let me take a step back first and introduce DAUGTHRY to you: The American Rock band was founded by singer Chris Daugthry in 2006. The band also released self-titled debut album in the same year and was an instant success. Since then, DAUGHTRY has released six full length studio album, with the latest being released in 2021. In 2024 the band finally announced the release of a new EP: ‘Shock to the System (Part One)’, and now, almost a year later the second part: ‘Shock to the System (Part Two)’. This brand new EP comes with seven songs and goes by quicker than you like.
The opening track ‘The Seeds’ setting the mood and raises the bar high for the next songs. ‘Divided’ comes with strong arrangements, and the captivating smoky and husky voice of the singer CHRIS DAUGHTRY. ‘The Day I Die’ is a bitter sweet, and intense, with a smooth bridge, that will dig deep underneath your skin. ‘The Bottom’ comes crawling into your ear and up your spine. It is slowly unravelling, getting more intense and gradually digs deeper, while the rhythmic tunes will pull you along right away.
‘Terrified’ is marching forward, dragging you along, whether you want it or not. The rhythmic tunes also have strong potential to stick with you for long after this song has ended. ‘Razor’ is cutting you deeply. This catchy song is filled with a lot of love and heartbreak. ‘Antidote’ brings an amazing closing to the album, melting your heart with brilliant vocals.
DAUGHTRY is back with new music. ‘Shock To The System (Part Two)’ comes with seven brilliant songs that are highly addictive. I, personally, cannot stop listening. Each song is digging deep and will resonate within you for long after the actual EP has ended. So press play on this brilliant and fresh piece of music and enjoy every second of it.
