After six years of hibernation, REFUSED are waking up one last time. Few bands have shaped political Hardcore quite like them, not least with their seminal masterpiece ‘The Shape of Punk to Come’. In June and October, the Swedes will shake German venues to their foundations for the final time.
Emerging from the Swedish Hardcore scene, REFUSED broke with genre conventions with the release of their third LP ‘The Shape of Punk to Come’ in 1998, securing their permanent place in music history. Since their formation in 1992 in Umeå, Dennis Lyxzén, David Sandström, and their ever-evolving line-up have stood for musical radicalism and visionary defiance.
REFUSED were never just a band - they were a statement. After a turbulent history, including a break-up and later reunion in 2012, their influence stretches far beyond Hardcore, with bands like IDLES citing them as trailblazers.
“Refused Are F**king Dead” is the name of their upcoming farewell tour, marking their final German shows. Over several dates, they’ll crash over audiences like an avalanche, carrying the weight of 30 years of band history.
