Saint, Oberhausen, Germany
29th November 2008
Jesus on Extasy, Destroid, Kiew, Patenbrigade:Wolff, Akanoid

In November, the electronic aid festival is taking place for the second time at the Saint Club in Oberhausen. With a total of five bands, the organizer independence e.V. presents a great line-up with top bands. Like last year, newcomers get a chance to present themselves besides the big names of the scene. Looking back on 2007, it was SAM and PAINPASTARD, who were fairly unknown at that time, but now belong to the most popular acts.

The Bands

Under that motto, the band AKANOID from Lippstadt opens the 2.EAF. After four EPs and one album, we’ll see now if the band around the charismatic singer Hilton Theissen is able to stir the audience.

After that PATENBRIGADE:WOLFF prove their soft spot for big machines. To an impressive stage show in shining orange overalls, yellow helmets and barrier tapes, they’ll showcase tracks like ‘Mauerradio’, ‘Turmdrehkran’ and ‘Demokratischer Sektor’ live. Their songs constantly enter the German Alternative and Electronic charts.

As third act of the evening, KIEW invite you to a ‘Käferfrühstück’ (Bug Breakfast), which is the name of a current song of the upcoming album, still due for a 2008 release. But also classics like ‘Feierabend in Kiew’ and ‘dcdisk’ won’t be missed out in the set and with well-known intensity they’ll bring the club to a boil, before the day pass for the guys ends and the have to return to their room 72 in the high security ward of the parallel world of KIEW.

If Daniel Myer was headliner with HAUJOBB at the first EAF, he’s back again this year. With DESTROID he’ll enter the stage as co-headliner and showcase his impressing sound arts. The exceptional artist isn’t celebrated as ‘God of electronic music’ for no reason. Together with Sebastian Ullman, DESTROID provides an interesting and especially enthralling mix of old school EBM elements merged with punchy, modern synth melodies. The current album ‘Loudspeaker’ is rated as profound, emotional, matured and diverse. Those who could already experience HAUJOBB at the first Electronic Aids Festival which grandiose olive performance they can expect with DESTROID.

With JESUS ON EXTASY, the Electronic Aid Festival could allure a very special headliner for a good cause. Who says industrial rockers couldn’t act with style? The shooting stars from the Ruhr area have a home play in Oberhausen so to speak and will surely top off the festival with an impressing show. One of the most popular bands these days with the New Orleans born, extremely charismatic singer Dorian stands for Sex, Rock’n’Roll, Ecstasy and sweaty devotion to the pumping rhythm machines and so JESUS ON EXTASY unites hedonism, dirt and dandy attitude  The mixture is perfect.

The Organizer

The organizer ‘indipendence’ is a non-profit organization, exclusively consisting of honorary employees. All net proceeds will be transferred to the social initiative ‘PCs for Kids’ (http://www.pcs-for-kids.de/) which will put an end to the lack of PCs on Germany’s schools. So it’s worth buying a ticket in more than one way.
