Coppelius
COPPELIUS is a band from Berlin which can be hardly put into a certain drawer - it is i.e. influenced by Iron Maiden, whose songs they also covered. You could say the band members play Metal on percussion, contrabass, cello and clarinet.
On their homepage there is almost no true information about the band, rather they try to present themselves as musicians from the 19th century. The texts of their songs are influenced just as the style by E.T.A. HOFFMANN. Also the band name COPPELIUS is leant against the novel figure of the same name which appears in different stories, as for example "Der Sandmann".
In 2009, COPPELIUS published the 2nd album ‘Tumult’ with guest appearances of Eric Fish, B. Deutung and Fr. Schmidt. And at the 4th December 2009 this extraordinary band comes to Munich's Backstage.
