Album Review
DESTINITY from France formed in 1996 in Lyon. Last November, they released their 6th full length album from the German label Lifeforce. The music direction of the album is melodic death metal with some thrash elements. The main influence of the band is the melodic Swedish Death Metal scene, bands like old IN FLAMES,DARK TRANQULLITY,THE CROWN came in my mind while listening to ‘Resolve In Crimson’. The guitars are very good aggressive but also melodic where it is needed, Mick's voice is also very good and aggressive, a small surprise is Morteüs who is the drummer of the band and responsible for the clean vocals parts who shows that he is having a very good voice. Another thing that gives a credit to the album is the use of samples, keyboards and acoustic guitars. The production is in general good but I think the sound of drums should be more powerful but this is only my personal opinion, maybe the band wanted to sound like this in order to emphasize the very good work on guitars. DESTINITY from France with Resolve In Crimson are proving that Melodic Death Metal is not a metal genre only for Swedish.
