D1G174L 3J4CUL473 has a pretty hard ‘n’ heavy unique sound. Electronica doesn’t quite describe it, for it’s more ferocious and passionate that that, as carefully constructed discords jar your brain with an ever present driving rhythm that you’ll find still in your head days later. It’s the sort of music you suspect has subliminal messages running through it and you find yourself thinking all sorts of outlandish things whilst listening, testimony to the fact that this music makes you THINK.
The opening track is ‘Over U’ and sets a steady tone for things to come, ‘Valerian6200’ and ‘Beyond Her Dark Eyes’ being my personal favourites. If you like something strong, heavy and out of the ordinary I strongly suggest you have a listen as it’s wayward, brave and completely out there. D1G174L 3J4CUL473 make no attempt to be like other people and that’s what’s so nice about this album, you genuinely get a sense of purpose and integrity to it. (Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred & Intolerance Everywhere) named in honour of the memory of Sophie Lancaster, a young Goth girl attacked with her boyfriend and killed simply because they were wearing Goth clothing. A very sad situation, but a very worthy album to commemorate her. Check it out.
