Album Review

When forming a particular genre of music it can be difficult to determine what style your band plans to become. Let alone every band especially when it comes down to metal we all know the wide range of categories that are offered within that genre. Most common is heavy metal or melodic metal that blends a power fusion in the mix combining a mixture of uniqueness and creativity all along. Such as Swedish metallers MANIMAL who present themselves well when entering ‘The Darkest Room’, an assortment of nine tracks that go right through one another not even noticing when one track ends and the other begins.

This album tends to lack that raw in your face energy and brings forth that repeating tone and style over and over again as each track is played through. Some tracks that sound slightly similar minus the guitar breaking solos, includes ‘Living Dead’, ‘I Am’ and ‘Dreamers And Fools’. These selected set the whole power metal experience that brings an everlasting ringing to your ear drum that doesn't wan to fade away. Indeed the instruments used present that melodic tone and the vocals are very high and expressive but sounding the same gets old fast and quick. ‘The Darkest Room’ is the only type of room presented after you've listened in to this album, because in the end your left alone in the dark, thinking whether or not what you just heard was music or wasn't.
