Airbourne - “Gutsy Tour 2026”
Guitar riffs, energy, passion: With their debut album ‘Runnin’ Wild’ alone, AIRBOURNE ascended to become the hottest hard rock band of the new millennium. With their successors ‘No Guts. No Glory’ (2010), ‘Black Dog Barking’ (2013), ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’ (2016), and ‘Boneshaker’ (2019), the Australian quartet evolved into a global hit-maker.
Especially in Germany, AIRBOURNE consistently triggers waves of enthusiasm: four of their five albums immediately landed in the Top Ten. But internationally, they have also confidently established themselves as the benchmark in the Hard Rock scene. After the band has so far consistently released a new record every three years, the successor to the now six-year-old ‘Boneshaker’ has finally been announced for this year.
Following that, AIRBOURNE will embark on a world tour and, as part of it, will make stops for six shows in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Wiesbaden, and Saarbrücken between February 3 and March 9, 2026. These shows, like the six Germany concerts during their European tour earlier this year, are likely to sell out in record time.
AIRBOURNE, from the 30,000-soul Australian town of Warrnambool, embodies everything that hard rock stands for: AC/DC-level guitar work, choruses in the style of IRON MAIDEN, GUNS N’ ROSES, or MÖTLEY CRÜE, and a stage show that generates as much euphoria as an entire heavy metal festival.
With their debut ‘Runnin’ Wild,’ released in May 2008, Joel O’Keeffe (vocals, guitar), Ryan O’Keeffe (drums), David Roads (guitar), and Justin Street (bass) immediately made it clear: AIRBOURNE doesn’t care about trends and fads. The album, produced by Bob Marlette and Andy Wallace (OZZY OSBOURNE, ALICE COOPER, GUNS N’ ROSES), simply oozed confidence. Accordingly, they were awarded the English Metal Hammer Award for “Best Debut Album of the Year”.
Since then, the band has consistently thrilled crowds everywhere with their captivating, no-frills show. AIRBOURNE achieves all of this with an honest, handmade, passionate sound that they have perfected and articulated over four more albums. Four of these five albums were nominated for Australia’s most prestigious music award, the ARIA Award, in addition to numerous other awards and nominations.
Little is known about the upcoming album, which is scheduled for release this year - except that Brett Tyrrell is a new rhythm guitarist on board, whose powerful guitar playing brings a fresh wind to the band. A first glimpse into the coming sound was already given last Friday with the single ‘GUTSY.’ Starting with a bell toll, AIRBOURNE shows its most sophisticated side, loud and bombastic. We can therefore be very excited about the upcoming work, which is sure to leave no eye - and certainly no armpit - dry.
