Album Review
There has been a lot of rumours and “speak and spell” around the release of LES DISCRETS’ debut album, due to mastermind Fursy Teyssier’s association with AMESOEURS and ALCEST. In fact, there’s a kind of analogy within these bands… however LES DISCRETS is a self-contained project. “Lacking” of the deep and aggressive metal parts like the other two projects, ‘Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées’ is more dreamy, just like a slowed down, mellowed-out version of OPETH, as you want. Even reminding me of the good old times of EMPYRIUM (honestly, all of these projects deserve the predicate of an appropriate heritage), LES DISCRETS presents it’s outstanding features like a pure, clean and beautiful voice combined with atmospheric compositions full of slender melodies, that are definitely capable to catch the mood of a volatilizing winter. In my opinion Fursy Teyssier succeeded in “copying” it’s greater “ancestors” without being a plagiarist. Let’s feel the last shafts of sunlight on a last winter’s day passing by…
