ThinLizzy-1Colos-Saal, Aschaffenburg, Germany
15th July 2011
Thin Lizzy, Vintage Trouble

Having the only club gig in Germany in summer during their THIN LIZZY Europe 2011 Tour in Aschaffenburg's Colos-Saal, it was no surprise to finally have a sold out venue. And it turned out to be a great evening in rock!

Vintage Trouble

VINTAGE TROUBLE was reported as supporting act just one week before the concert. The quartet from Los Angeles committed themselves to the very early soul and rhythm and promises "live-wired, straight-shootin', dirty-mouth'd, pelvis-pushing juke music!". The members of this band founded in early 2010 are Ty Taylor (vocal), Nalle Colt (guitar), Rick Barrio Dill (bass) and Richard Danielson (drums). http://www.vintagetrouble.com / http://www.facebook.com/vintagetrouble

Music & Performance
VINTAGE TROUBLE presented the songs of their forthcoming release ‘The Bomb Shelter Sessions’. And to my surprise with their catchy and stylish presence on stage they caught the rock audience right away. With Ty Taylor as strong-voiced and entertaining front man in the line of Otis Redding and alike, the band showed their great potential during their premier show in Germany. One day after this successful premiere they are announced to open up for Bon Jovi in Mannheim and I am sure, they will do a great job again.

Thin Lizzy

The band truly belonging to the league of most famous rock bands ever had a smash hit in the British pop charts with the song ‘Whiskey In The Jar’ in the early 70s. They even won a Grammy in the category "Best Hard Rock Performance" for the song in 2000. 25 years after the legendary front man Phil Lynott died, THIN LIZZY lead guitarist Scott Gorham has put together a synergetic new line-up with two of his former THIN LIZZY band mates Brian Downey on drums and keyboard player Darren Wharton. GUNS N ROSES Richard Fortus on second lead guitar, bass plays Marco Mendoza (WHITESNAKE, TED NUGENT) and Ricky Warwick from THE ALMIGHTY sings and plays guitar complete the band during the Europe 2011 tour. http://www.thinlizzyband.com / http://www.facebook.com/ThinLizzyOfficial / http://www.myspace.com/thinlizzynow

Music & Performance
"Seid ihr bereit?" (Are You Ready?) was the intro Ricky Warwick did shout toward the Colos-Saal crowd. And it turned out to be a Best-of-THIN LIZZY night with a professional band obviously having fun on stage and easily transferring this mood to the people in the audience. Even though songs like ‘Southbound’ or ‘Cold Sweat’ were missing from my personal THIN LIZZY favourites, the set list was a guaranty for a great rock evening. With an energetic Ricky Warwick at front the band let us have a ride through all relevant THIN LIZZY albums. So ‘The Boys Were Back In Town’ and everybody loved it - including me! And seeing Scott Gorham signing CDs, vinyl and posters after the show for quite a while all can hope for a repetition next year in Aschaffenburg. If you have a chance to see this band live go and take it!
