Album Review

A very significant moment is coming for German electro /gothic band called PITCHBLACK INC. On the first of November, their debut album ‘Alles ist gesagt’ is released via Ionium Records, the home of AD INFERNA, HALO EFFECT and others. For some listeners PITCHBLACK INC. might be known for their EP released in 2005 and a remix album ‘Folge mir’.

The biggest advantage of ‘Alles ist gesagt’ is quite interesting mixture of slow melodic, melancholic and fast energetic musical rhythms . On the same CD listeners can find songs like ‘Zukunft’ and ‘Folge mir’, which are full of specific danceable energy that would tear club dance-floors apart and some slow thoughtful songs like ‘City Lights’ that are really good for romantic evenings. Lyrics are mostly written in German, but there are some compositions in English too. ‘Alles ist gesagt’ sounds qualitatively and keeps best electro / gothic music traditions.

It's pretty good album, the only minus is - there is nothing fundamentally new or unique in it, it's very typical for such music genre, especially in Germany, sometimes it even distantly reminds well known German band called WELLE:ERDBALL, at least from the view of vocal parts. But, I think, it's not a bad comparison for such relatively newcomer band like PITCHBLACK INC. No doubt ‘Alles ist gesagt’ opens a new promising page in PITCHBLACK INC. creativity. Dynamic mixture of fast danceable and slow songs help not to feel bored during CD listening. It' s definitely worth to be listened, especially if you are a fan of electro music.
