How about a little musical journey to Slovenia? Here in February 2005, six young men started to create magic. They started with taking part in local festivals and concerts in their country. After four years they went to studio. Following the reports on Facebook the recording took about three years. But it was worth it! They managed to create a profound, emotional and ringing work of art called ‘Lucidream’.
Since each song is a little shining brilliant it is hard to believe that WORLD WITHIN is a DIY-project. The most courageous Slovenian critics describe ‘Lucidream’ as a mixture of DEPECHE MODE, LINKIN PARK and SISTERS OF MERCY. Well, maybe it is a bit too early for comparing with such big names, but the direction is correct. WORLD WITHIN manages to combine styles from the opposite edges of spectrum: metal riffs with tender piano, emotional charismatic vocals with breakbeat. Each song consists of many dimensions, and sometimes the evolution of melodies is quite surprising. The real treasure is charming charismatic singer – who can scare, console and seduce you during the same song.
The brightest and, let’s not be afraid of this word, pop songs on the album could be ‘Repulsive Desire’ and ‘Balsamour’. Moreover ‘Balsamour’ has also reached the top of the local radio charts. Last but not least – if you are into English philology – the game of words in those lyrics are just mind-blowing. The universe of music is beautiful and immense. Once you take a broad way, but with corner of your ear you notice a shining tiny melody somewhere on the side. Coming closer you’ll probably see just a pretty music box, but be sure there is the world within. And since it is possible to listen to ‘Lucidream’ for free (link below), don’t lose your chance to take a look into brave new and beautiful world.
