“If the world is evil, we have to be evil, too”, proclaimed Syco Trauma in the context of their last record “Don’t Be Scared It’s About Life” in 2010 – and quite obviously mankind has been giving almost everything to worsen the situation since, turning Orwell’s dystopian fiction into reality. A good point of time for the return of French noise rebels Chrysalide whose new album “Personal Revolution” will again be extremely sinister, extremely loud and even more innovative than its predecessor! Noteworthy, the band performs the feat of skillfully maintaining their roots while being compatible to the clubs as well: homages to Skinny Puppy’s “Last Rights” period are still audible and prevalent, yet while acherontic IDM and noise elements are interwoven and genre limits ignored consequently. Finally now, British EBM pioneers Click Click are going to release "Those Nervous Surgeons", their first album with new studio material in 17 years! In addition to that, mastermind Adrian Smith obviously had the time to finish his debut novel "The Eradication Of Hate", which will come with the limited edition (limited to 300 copies!). It mirrors the dystopian themes of the new record and addresses rampant censorship in an emerging English surveillance state. However, the record title “Those Nervous Surgeons” used to be the name of the brothers’ very first band project before they opted for the monicker Click Click. "We Have Come Full Circle", explains Derek Smith, and it is true: With respect to its instrumentation, the album sounds absolutely retro and harks back to the uniquely gloomy atmosphere as heard on old Click Click albums. Every year in May one special birthday comes on: the harbour of Hamburg, Germany, going to turn proudly 825 years old. It is one of the biggest harbour celebrations in the world with about 70,000 visitors. You can find many shows and a motley program over the whole weekend. For all of the Metal heads one program point is very interesting: the Hafen Rock Festival. The festival is a fixed component on this weekend. It is not yet so old like the harbour, but is going to take place for the 21st time. The first concerts already start on Friday noon, some hours before the official opening worship in the main church St. Michaelis and the famous incoming parade of the ships.

The sky is the limit! The title of Lord Of The Lost's new album, „From The Flame Into The Fire“, can be taken quite literally. This time around, the band cranks everything up to 11, as if to show that the previous outings have been mere warm-up exercises for this relentlessly entertaining romp into the fires of hell. The programmatic opener „Fists Up In The Air“ already quite effectively fuses Queen-style opera-pathos with Metal-attacks of the heftier kind and prepares for a way heavier take on the trademark Lord Of The Lost sound than we have been used to.
