The Norwegian Death metal Act HORIZON ABLAZE has inked a deal for their debut album with MAYHEM MUSIC. A tentative release date for the yet untitled album is set for winter 2010/2011. Horizon Ablaze is a death metal band from the southern part of Norway called Kristiansand. The band started enigmatically due to Kevin Kvåle and Stian Ruethemanns determination to express themselves in a noisy fashion. Horizon Ablaze formed January 2009. They envisioned a first release from the very beginning and started working on the “Deconstructive Portrait” EP almost as soon as they formed the band. Endre Kirkesola (Blood Red Throne, Solefald, Tömmermenn) agreed to record and produce the EP in May the same year. They spent two weeks in DUB Studios and the final result saw the light of day in late 2009.MayhemMusics Audun Grønnestad picked up a copy and decided to sign Horizon Ablaze early 2010, and then they were forced to knuckle down in the rehearsal space. With a deadline for the new album the ideas flourished and evolved into something more brutal, groovy, and awesome than anything ever done before. Horizon Ablaze was in need of a third and final member, a few auditioned but when Ole Bent Madsen walked through the door and picked up his bass, the band had finally found a man on the fourstringer.
With a new band member the Horizon Ablaze puzzle was finally complete, and so on the three-piece continued their work on the debut album and entered MayhemMusic Studios in the summer of 2010. Horizon Ablaze will feature a small Norwegian tour and a European tour later this year.
