The following is another brief excerpt from the NIGHTWISH story that will run in BW&BK #97 in which keyboardist/ founder Tuomas Holopainen discusses the band's criteria in choosing a new singer. "To be honest I don’t really care," says Holopainen. "It will work the same way as before. If she just wants to sing that’s fine, but I would definitely prefer if she would be more into the rehearsals and be a little bit more like one guy among the other guys in the band. I want to emphasize that this was never, ever a problem with Tarja, it’s not the reason for the split. It was something else entirely."There's no doubt that when a new vocalist is chosen she is guaranteed to feel intimidated joining the ranks of a band with such a loyal fanbase.
"Yeah, and you can just imagine the hell that the new singer is going to go through when she’s announced, from the media and the die hard Tarja fans. I feel sorry for her already. One of the most important criteria that we have for her is to have the biggest sense of self esteem and sense of humour in the world."
