SETH have returned. The French band delivers its fifth full-length album after mysteriously disappearing after the release of ‘Era-Decay’ in 2004. In their home country and across the borders, the band is best known for the combination of harsh and sinister sounds with their sense for atmosphere and melodies. Compared with their most successful (and in a lot of eyes best) album ‘Les Blessures De L’Âme’, the band misses the good song writing, even though the production improved and the musicians are technically mature. The songs miss some density… it surely is not easy to keep long songs really interesting. But still this album is a good album by really talented musicians.
Conclusion: Fans of melodic Black Metal should definitely give SETH a try anyway.
