‘Tales from the Barrel House’ is the sixth album of celebrated folk singer-songwriter and virtuoso fiddler Seth Lakeman. The songs on the album are all written by Seth, but also he played every musical contribution himself and produced and mixed the album as well. This album as anything you know and love in his music: bow-shredding violin riffs and driving guitar rhythms, extended by loads of sounds from instruments like banjo or bouzouki plus booming drum beats. ‘Tales from the Barrel House’ contains foot-stomping, sing-along songs as well as the more tender and thoughtful ballads. A wonderful album!
Conclusion: The album surely will excite Lakeman’s fans and hopefully he’ll win some new ones with it too.
