Review Flash

Fresh in the mail from one of the friendly record companies and PR wizards I got BLESSED BLACK, another small Doom gem to listen, experience and indulge in. BLESSED BLACK was formed in 2017 and their motto is “Riffs forever, forever Riffs” yeah sounds like it guys. This four-piece sounds a bit like KYUSS so I think it is safe to say this is not purely Doom but a genre-bending beast dripping Stoner-Doom, Post Punk and a bit of Grunge into our greedy ears. Prepare to be entertained by arrangements and compositions that evoke a wild imagery. With all that wild elements it feels like Mad Max-like outcasts reside in a cursed church in the desert under a full moon. Partying with magic mushrooms, booze and strippers straight from hell. This first musical outing consists of seven songs played in wild virtuosity, made to stay inside your head for quite a while.

Conclusion: This Cincinnati four-piece is here to stay, if you dig HIGH ON FIRE, ELDER, THE SKULL or GRAVEYARD you should check this out.
