L.A Metal heads VOID VATOR formed their band in 2015 and ‘Stranded’ is their second EP since ‘Dehumanized’ in 2017. To call this Heavy Metal is a bit short-sighted because there are Groove Metal parts and even Grunge parts in ‘Toxic Waste’ to point a song out. ‘Nothing to lose’ feels like HELLACOPTERS with a bit of Thrash on the side for example. I even get a FOO FIGHTERS feeling here and there (which is great, Dave Grohl is awesome). Ok I admit it, this is the first record I really enjoy this evening. The further I dive into this the more I realize that, aside of vocalist Lucas Kanopa, the overall awesomeness of this band is in big parts the result of Erik Kluiber’s guitar skills (ex-GYPSYHAWK, ex-WHITE WIZZARD). Damn now I want more of this... this sounds like FOO FIGHTERS really bad but with a METALLICA touch sometimes I fucking dig it.
Conclusion: If you like your Alternative Metal a bit rough and tough around the edges you will probably fall in love with VOD VATOR
