Dredg - El Cielo
US American band DREDG is counting to the most progressive powers in alternative music for one and a half decade now. After an extensive world tour accompanying the release of their latest album, ‘Chuckles And Mr. Squeezy’, the band now offers something very special for their fans. In the course of the German concerts in April and May, the band performs both album classics, 2002 ‘El Cielo’ and 2005 ‘Catch Without Arms’ in full length. Any concert is characterized by one of the albums. So, for example, the band performed in Frankfurt ‘El Cielo’ while Munich stood in sign of ‘Catch Without Arms’. For Cologne, the third station on tour, there were two shows scheduled, on concert per album. The shows in Cologne were both sold-out.

Die Kammer & Meystersinger
At the Blackfield Festival 2013 I had the chance to see DIE KAMMER (The chamber) for the first time and this was the most surprising act for me, regarding the fact that their acoustic performance was a bit unusual between the Electro, Goth Rock, EBM, Synth Pop and Metal shows. But a festival performance is of course only an appetizer. Thus I was more than pleased to have the chance to see a complete show of them, even more because the concert took place in a church and so a fantastic acoustic could be expected. The Kulturkirche is beautiful little Lutherans church with a capacity of 600 guests. Besides musical and cultural events there are still services.

Paaspop Festival Day 2: Black Bottle Riot, Boxer Rebellion, Tribute 2 Bob Marley, Taymir, Sleepy Sun, Kensington, Hans Teeuwen & The Painkillers, Hatebreed, Vandenberg’s Moonkings
The last day of Paaspop festival is again blessed with loads of sunshine and it doesn’t take long for most festival goers to crawl out of their tents and get back at it on the festival compound again. Today’s line-up doesn’t have as much heavy guitars as yesterday, but still there are some interesting bands to go see like VANDENBERG’S MOONKINGS and HATEBREED.

Schöngeist
Dark Munich Festival traditionally attracts lovers of good music from all over Germany and not only Germany. This year hasn’t become an exception: great line-up, nice audience and definitely a lot of good music made those three festival days really unforgettable. However it will be too long to tell about the whole event as the only thing you should know is that everything was impressive and cool. Yet it’s just impossible to go without a review of a gig to allow you feel better the atmosphere of the festival. And in this case let’s focus of the performance of - as I think one of one of the most interesting bands on the dark scene - gothic rock formation SCHÖNGEIST.
