MADSEN to embark on major “Smile” album tour in autumn 2026! How many bands can proudly claim to have released ten studio albums while remaining one of Germany’s most beloved live acts for more than 20 years? Not many - but MADSEN are about to join that exclusive club. On 29 May 2026, the band from Lower Saxony will release ‘Smile’, their tenth studio album. The announcement was made only recently during their sold-out show at Hamburg’s Sporthalle, where fans were also treated to a first live preview of the new material. For the rest of the world, the title track ‘Smile’ will be released at the end of January.More than two decades have passed since brothers Sebastian, Johannes and Sascha Madsen, together with bassist Niko Maurer and former member Folkert, released their self-titled debut album MADSEN in 2005, following several years of making music together. Just one year later, ‘Goodbye Logik’ was released - to this day one of the most important albums in the band’s catalogue - and was followed by a steady run of further releases. Their most recent album to date, ‘Hollywood’, was released in 2023 on the band’s own label and became MADSEN’s first-ever No. 1 album.
Twenty years during which the band evolved from their early punk and indie rock roots to carve out a sound entirely their own, producing countless hits such as ‘Lass die Musik an’, ‘Du schreibst Geschichte’ and ‘Macht euch laut’. And above all: 20 years in which MADSEN grew from a local live band in the Wendland region of Lower Saxony to headlining major festival stages across the country. Epic sing-along choruses and raw punk rock energy have defined their shows from the very beginning, alongside the exceptionally strong bond they share with their fans.
It therefore comes as no surprise that, alongside their already confirmed summer open-air dates, the guitar-driven band have announced an extensive German tour for next year in support of their new album. Across twelve dates in autumn 2026, MADSEN will bring ‘Smile’ to the stage - along with plenty of highlights from more than two decades of band history. As a special warm-up, the band will also play an album release show at Hamburg’s Stadtpark in June.
