MADSEN are coming to Germany and Austria in October and December 2023 with their new album ‘Hollywood’. You don’t have to explain much anymore: MADSEN are a brand in their own right. The band of the eponymous brothers Sascha, Johannes and Sebastian with their childhood friend Niko Maurer has been one of the most successful live & Rock acts in the country for almost 20 years. It’s hard to find a rock music lover who hasn’t seen MADSEN live at least once in the last 19 years. You could say: Festivals are simply part of the quintessence of the band.
But if you only reduce MADSEN to their live entertainment qualities, you are far from doing the band justice: their upcoming, ninth studio album ‘Hollywood’ underlines the band’s status as one of the important local Rock bands, also on record. With songs full of empathy, love, power and a clear edge, MADSEN prove on ‘Hollywood’ that German guitar music is anything but trivial. Whether political statements or big feelings, which sometimes make use of the good kind of kitsch - MADSEN songs spark emotions and quickly feel like new favourite songs.
Also, and this is important to mention in this day and age, MADSEN is a family-run business, a zone where everyone should feel comfortable and where disrespectful and inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Only a few bands have managed not to be spoiled by the often-cold-blooded music business and to remain strong in character. Regardless of whether they were equipped with the largest major budgets or, as of now, founding their own label Goodbye Logic Records for the new album - MADSEN is a family affair and we can all be part of it. ‘Hollywood’, MADSEN’s new and ninth studio album, will be released on August 18, 2023 via the band’s own label Goodbye Logic Records, distributed by The Orchard and Indigo. The album will be released as a limited edition including a bonus 7” vinyl single with two other new songs, a songbook, a backstage pass with access to the complete concert film from the “15 Years Madsen” concert in the Hamburger Sporthalle in 2019, as well as other extras. Various vinyl versions, CD and MC of ‘Hollywood are also available. All recordings are available directly from the band’s shop at www.madsenmerch.de.
On the headline tour for the new album in autumn, the band will be playing in selected cities in Germany and Austria. The tour ends on December 21, 2023 in Hamburg.
