ENTER SHIKARI have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic. The band, who live so much from the stage, had to postpone their tours several times, while frontman and songwriter Rou Reynolds didn’t want to write any new tracks for a while. But a festival performance changed everything and roused the boys from St. Alban from their lethargy. Live, the quartet is more active with us than ever before (which means something): Before Christmas they caught up on several shows, in April two exclusive release appearances were added, in summer ENTER SHIKARI play at the big festivals Hurricane, Southside and Highfield and next February there will be a Germany tour for the new album. Because after the old fire had flared up again, a new record broke out with force: ‘A Kiss for the Whole World’ is nothing less than what the title promises. What was promised at the time has now succeeded. LP No. 7 is out nothing short of the quintessential ENTER SHIKARI on one record. Correctly observed, the thing is more diverse than any album before. Cracking guitars and tender string sounds, broad synthesizer sounds and Drum’n’Bass interludes, distorted vocals and clear refrain, introspective song pearl and big stadium anthem, everything is there that makes ENTER SHIKARI so uniquely appealing, and in perfection Production and self-contained and harmonious. No wonder ‘A Kiss for the Whole World’ became the band’s first number one in the UK Albums Chart. A highlight that the English have long since earned.
ENTER SHIKARI will come to us on tour next February and present the new masterpiece live. They are accompanied by BLACKOUT PROBLEMS and FEVER 333 around singer Aalon Butler, formerly LETLIVE. Born as a counter-vote to the Trump movement, with musical sponsors of BAD BRAINS and PUBLIC ENEMY, their shows have been considered a political movement from the moment they first appeared in a parking lot - they completely enthral audiences with their angry energy and, true to their band name, set the mood glowing.
