BIM Fest 2013 Day 2: MRDTC, 6Comm, Brain Sektor, A Split Second, 32Crash, The Young Gods, Monolith
During the previous years, second day of BIM fest always stated on early afternoon, meaning there were many bands coming up and you would be totally knocked out at the end of the day. This year, the first band on Saturday would enter the stage at 18:00, so you had a lot of time before to relax after you probably got drunk during the first day’s after show party. Also the second festival day had big names on the bill, like i.e. THE YOUNG GODS promising an exclusive set.

BIM Fest 2013 Day 1: No Sleep By The Machine, Implant, Lescure13, The Klinik, Arbeid Adelt! and Geistform
When the time has come to do the last preparations for Christmas, and the anticipation starts getting to unbearable due to the gifts that might be placed under the tree, the time had come for the yearly Belgian Independent Music Fest in Belgium. 2014 saw already the 12th edition of BIM Fest and once more, promoters assembled an outstanding line-up to bring up anticipation to the melting point. But there was a change compared to the previous years… the event moved from the bigger Trix XL to the smaller Trix Club. I liked that move since the club provided a cosier and more familiar atmosphere. Friday’s highlights for many were for sure Belgian veterans ARBEID ADELT! and THE KLINIK. My little personal surprise was NO SLEEP BY THE MACHINE though.

Combichrist - Old School Electronic Show – and support Readjust
On 19th December, COMBICHRIST invited to a special shot to the Pulp in Duisburg, an Old School Electronic Show. The Pulp in Duisburg is also called “The event castle” as the entrance looks like a tower with an old canon in front of it and different halls inside with extraordinary furniture and decoration, every piece of it handmade and unique. “The cave”, where the concerts take place, has a capacity of 850 people. But the Pulp is not only a venue for concerts. Different kinds of parties take place and you can hire some of the rooms/ halls for private parties or other events. Besides having a drink or two there is always a selection of fresh homemade food you can get there for little money. So to say at least, the Pulp was the perfect location for this event.

Eisbrecher & A Life [Divided]
On this rainy, cold Saturday I made my way to the Kesselhaus in Munich where the sold out concert of the band EISBRECHER was moved to. Under the motto '10 years - 11 shows - 12 000 miles' the band toured to their jubilee straight through Germany and on December 14th, the icebreaker stopped in Munich.

Royal Republic
It was June 2013, when large Rock The Beach festival took place in Helsinki, organized by a global promoter Livenation. The festival had two huge stages and a small one. Small stage was even not so big deal, sponsored by a local jeans shop, whose makeshift version also situated in the festival grounds. But commercial huge bands weren't interesting at times, and in lack of real outcome from some supposedly big acts, well-advertised names no wonder that I end up to check small stage almost involuntary. And there were ROYAL REPUBLIC.
