Sinner’s Day 2011 - Side Stage: Blancmange, Gene Loves Jezebel, Recoil, Visage, Diamanda Galas, Karl Bartos
The huge stage of the Ethias arena was split into three parts: a big one in the middle as main stage and two small ones at the sides forming the side stages, which had a great program to offer as well. For example there was KARL BARTOS, former member of legendary electronic robots of KRAFTWERK, brining some electronic wizardry and one or the other surprise. Talking about surprises, probably the biggest one came in shape of Alan Wilder's RECOIL who after the acclaimed past performances in Germany was going to cater for a mesmerising performance and a highlight of the festival. With DIAMANDA GALAS, one of today’s divas was present as well. But the concerts at the side stages and the festival in whole was offered by legendary BLANCMANGE followed by GENE LOVES JEZEBEL, who replaced THE PSYCHEDELIC FURS and more or less JOHN FOXX at once, who both had to cancel their appearance.

Jean Michel Jarre
JEAN MICHEL JARRE has written music history. Not only with the music itself, 'Oxygene' for instance, but with the whole live setting. On every single of the shows he's performing he's creating a live spectacle incorporating laser elements, making it a visionary experience. Also. He's holding various live records and it is doubtful that any other modern musician could come up with a similar history. You need an example? There you go: More than 2 million people attended his show on occasion of the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. In this year's November, JEAN MICHEL JARRE embarks on a tour of Germany and two dates within the Ruhr area were on his schedule, one of which we were a part of in Dortmund. http://www.jeanmicheljarre.com/ / https://www.facebook.com/jeanmicheljarre

Subway to Sally, Nachtgeschrei
That Sunday, a lot of black-dressed people made their way to the Werk 2 Halle A in Leipzig to see SUBWAY TO SALLY - and so did we. After sipping some beers, we lined up with a lot of other people to get into the heated up hall. Waiting for another 30 minutes or something, the lights finally went out and NACHTGESCHREI was about to start their show in order to support tonight’s main act SUBWAY TO SALLY.

Sinner’s Day 2011 - Main Stage: KMFDM, The Exploited, The Mission, Patti Smith, The Cult, Front 242
Initiated in 2009, Belgian Sinner's Day festival in Hasselt drew quite some attention. The recipe of setting up a line-up of cult figures and acclaimed artists from the widespread genre of punk and new wave amongst others created a fascination that not many people could resist and which made last year’s edition more than a success. 2011 already saw the third incarnation of the festival which this time went without a second club stage but a side stage in the main hall. This means music lovers could watch all shows in full. As mentioned before the recipe is still the same and this year the organizers enlisted even more musical sensations than before.
