Castle Party 2022 Day 2 with Nitzer Ebb, She Past Away, Haujobb, XIII Stoleti, The Fright, Electro Fear
Saturday was rather cold and rainy, but there were no major delays on that day - in fact, some bands played earlier than scheduled, so it created a bit of confusion amongst the audience, but altogether it was one of the best festival days with a strong line-up featuring NITZER EBB, SHE PAST AWAY and the last minute replacement for PSYCLON NINE - HAUJOBB.

Castle Party 2022 Day 1 with New Model Army, Me and That Man, BOKKA, Sex Gang Children, Dom Zly and Bedless Bones
Castle Party, the most significant alternative event in Poland, is the one you’d like to visit at least once. Located in beautiful surroundings of the nearby hills, the castle hosts the festival every year in July. The small, quiet town Bolkow changes into a Gothic venue and for four summer days, the overwhelming black colour takes over.

Wave Gotik Treffen 2022 Day 2 with Bunkersyndikat performance, Rotersand, Then Comes Silence, The Names, Korine
The first official day of the 29th WGT had set the expectations high and Saturday was about to serve some exciting highlights as well. Second night on the camping ground survived well. By the way, random notes from someone who has been camping most of her WGT years - I loved that there was now running water with soap just next to the dixis (mobile toilets). The soap containers were refilled quite often, so it was very rarely that there was none left when I needed it. The camping ground was definitely not as packed as the years before. However, this also had the advantage that getting our favourable camping spot was easy and I did not experience any queues in front of the showers. This felt quite comfortable remembering the times back in the day, when the waiting time on Saturday or Sunday was easily half an hour or even longer.

30th June 2022
Midas Fall & Support: Yasmin Coe
Thursday the 30th of June 2022 was Velvet Sheep Day! Yes, it was time to get up early, take a trip by coach and train to Huddersfield in Yorkshire and see a Velvet Sheep promotion on home soil. There haven’t been any for quite a while due to various reasons but those I have been to in the past have offered up interesting buffets of musical tastes that it’s been prudent to keep an eye out for events cos otherwise you might just miss that undiscovered gem.

Broilers - “Alles wird wieder OK” Tour 2022 - Support: FEVER 333 & Social Distortion
The tour already started on 23th May in Frankfurt am Main. Most stops were or will be in Germany, but they also had Venlo (NL) and Vienna (Austria) on their list. Next stops will be Dresden and Hamburg. Berlin needed to be extended, so you may see Broilers on 5th and 6th August at Waldbühne. The tour is done by Hamburg and Münster based Kingstar Music. It’s been a little windy in Essen, but it was dry and mostly sunny. Stadion Essen got filled up with concert-hungry fans, so who cares about wind and temperatures?
