Birdy & Billy Locket
Mostly you can imagine which band will play, if you see the audience. At this evening it was a little bit difficult to figure out because there were people from very young to quite old. In front of the Astra Kulturhaus you could see two well-behaved queues waiting for entry. The location was filled very fast and BILLY LOCKETT (as support) had an easy game. He gathered not the whole attention but the audience applauded a lot.

Music & Performance
After a comparatively long rebuilding the piano was set up at the left side of the stage and from the middle to the right hand side there was enough space for BIRDY's live band. The beginning is a recorded intro and BIRDY entered the stage together with her musicians. Her first song is THE XX cover ‘Shelter’. She delighted the sold-out Astra within a few seconds. Her voice is clear as a bell and nevertheless tender, almost fragile. For the second song, the black background of the stage turned into images. They brought movement to the stage while BIRDY still sat at the piano. Highlights of the concert were clearly ‘No Angel’ and ‘People help the People’. BIRDY played the guitar and keyboard as well. People were talking not that quietly during the concert. Some of them left the hall and stayed at the bar in front of the hall. Because of that and the moderately acoustics at Astra it was occasional difficult to listen to.

It was abruptly silent as BIRDY began to play the BON IVER Cover ‘Skinny Love’ as first encore. She reached every single viewer, even to the last row. http://officialbirdy.com / https://www.facebook.com/BirdyMusic
