The power of the Finnish metal scene has awakened yet again. This time with the mighty force of AMBERIAN DAWN with the wonderful sights and sounds of Heidi Parviainen leading the vocals, and Tuomas Seppälä, Kasperi Heikkinen, Tommi Kuri, Emil Pohjalainen, and Joonas Pykälä-Aho bringing in the instrumentals. This time around, Tuomas takes charge on the keyboards playing a big role throughout ‘The Clouds of Northland Thunder’ showcasing AMBERIAN DAWN's sound in general, perfecting what they started on their previous efforts ‘River of Tuoni’. Moving onward towards ‘The Clouds of Northland Thunder’, it starts off with a wonder track, ‘He sleeps in a Grove’, the first single to come off this album. No wonder it would be the first single; it’s catchy and upbeat with a very fast paced melody written all over it.It goes down the band's previous sounds but impacts something new and exciting for all the listeners it tends to captivate.
The next set of tunes ‘Incubus’ and ‘Kokko-Eagle of Fire’ are both also very catchy and upbeat maintaining that fast pacing rhythm running throughout with inspiring lyrics hidden throughout that jump out at you around every instrumental turn really capturing the band's instrumental roots allowing the drumming tactics to build up this rattling tempo beating that makes you bang your head to the beat. The rest of the songs follow in the same methods as the ones already mentioned. Some fast with eye popping guitar solos while the others tend to uphold the great art of the keyboardist workmanship. ‘The Clouds of Northland Thunder’ is an overall fun and uplifting adventure and fans of NIGHTWISH and LACUNA COIL will fall head over heels for this enchantment.
