The US super group KILLER BE KILLED came into existence in 2011 and was founded by Greg Puciato and Max Cavalera. The band took its time to develop their material (it took two years to announce a name, but those Gentlemen are really damn busy) their self-titled debut will be published by Nuclear Blast. The lyrics are quite critical concerning politics and religion (‘Snakes of Jehova’ and ‘Fire to your Flag’). The music itself is very diversified, just think about three vocalists alternating within the songs (resulting in a feeling of heavy metal overkill) listening to the material I detect modern metal, thrash, death(a tiny bit) groove metal and bits of metal core. It`s like listening to a really proggy band only with the difference that these guys want to empty your brain with brute force just to fill it with molten steel and their heavy metal message. Normally there are so many references to musical styles that it shouldn`t be my cup of tea (horn of met) but ironically it is. These guys know what they do and what they do is not very nice (first three who get this reference win a beer). I have to admit that I don`t always know who is singing at every minute but it`s quite enjoyable nonetheless. If you like diversion (from melodic bits to pure thrash) you will most likely love this record, this could be the next big thing…
