Album Review

STEEL PANTHER is a US glam metal band formed in 2000 by Ralph Saenz (Michael Starr/ vocals), Russ Parrish (Satchel/ guitar), Travis Haley (Lexxi Foxxx/ bass) and Darren Leader (Stix Zadinia/ drums). The band often cites the hair metal of the 1980`s and use rather juicy and sometimes nasty vocabulary in their song texts (not everyone cup of tea but so what?). Michael Starr and Satchel played together in the VAN HALEN tribute band ATOMIC PUNKS and in the band WAR & PEACE after that. The band now known as STEEL PANTHER once played under the names METAL SHOP then METAL SKOOL after that they played as DANGER KITTY and finally they renamed the band into STEEL PANTHER in the year 2008. At the beginning of their career they played in the Viper Room on a weekly basis, covering hair bands and getting well-known in the local scene.

‘All you can Eat’ is the band`s third album as STEEL PANTHER. The often kinky vocabulary aside this band is great at making 80`s like hard rock, the musicians all know how to play and singer Michael Starr comes off very well too. Sure they are not a band to play at a feminist meeting but they deserve respect for being a great band technically and as songwriters (referring to the vocal lines). If you like music of the wild 80`s and don`t mind about the song texts this is the band for you. If you are a fan of STEEL PANTHER you will buys this record anyway…
