On 28th March the wait for the fifth E-tropolis Festival will be over, when it´s finally time for the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen to become the place to be for a full blast of top-class electronica. Not by accident expectations rise in anticipation of such thrilling bands by the likes of VNV NATION, PROJECT PITCHFORK, LAIBACH, DE/VISION, LEÆTHER STRIP and all the other wonderful artist, announced for this years edition. Obviously it´s high-time to keep you up to speed with the latest news.
ENHANCED FOOD SELECTION AT E-TROPOLIS 2015
As a direct reaction to last year´s experiences, the management of the Turbinenhalle took increased efforts by working on his gastronomical concept. The objective was clear: reduce queues at the food-stations and offer a bigger variety of snacks and dishes! The selection now includes waffles, pretzels, french fries, potato- & noodle-salad, pasta (vegetarian & bolognese), various sorts of sausages including „Currywurst“, escalopes (with roll), doner (lamb & chicken), lahmacun, chili con carne, vegetarian baguettes and much more.
Please take note that the major part of the food-stalls will be located inside the bistro and in the former soccer-hall this time, where all the traders will be located at as well. Located merely a puddle jump from the Turbinenhalle, there is the Kulttempel Oberhausen. Following last years introduction, this is again the place to be on the night before the big fest. The official E-tropolis pre-party with DJ Elvis and DJ Frank Ahdafi will serve a stylistic blend of EBM, synthpop, futurepop, industrial, dark wave, dark electronic, NDH and new wave.
The party begins at 10:00 pm on 27.03.2015. Admission at 6,00 € for guests without festival ticket. Guests with E-tropolis festival ticket pay only 4,00 €.
CHARITY-TOMBOLA IN SUPPORT OF „TATENDRANG JUGENDHILFE E.V.“
Aside from the excitement of the celebration, the E-tropolis Festival 2015 also leaves room for more grave tones. Initiated on a voluntary basis by Oberhausen police-officer Klaus Voßenberger, there will be a big charity-tombola in favor of the local youth-support organisation, called „Tatendrang e.V.“ (meaning: „the urge to act“).
„Tatendrang e.V.“ equally takes care of sexually abused children as it works in the qualification of voluntary children- & youth workers. Currently among their active projects is the „Hof am Rotbach“ – a safe house that provides a home for six severely traumatised kids at the moment, for whom this has become a last resort. The children are under intense psychological care, combined with a social-therapy using live-animals to support their rehab process. With a campaign called „Kinderzimmer“ („my own room“) the organization particularly asks for donations to buy a single room for every child of „Hof am Rotbach“.
We think this is a very respectable aim and your participation in the charity-tombola will be much appreciated, in helping these children to find a new perspective in life. Die Tombola will be located inside the former soccer hall, together with the traders and new food-stations.
