Two further super bands have confirmed their participation at Rockavaria: the Swiss heavy rockers GOTTHARD and the Scottish-American alternative rock instance GARBAGE surrounding Shirley Manson ('Only Happy When It Rains') who will bring their new album along. Not only the Rockavaria will go into its second round in 2016 but the Rockavaria band contest will also take place in the new year. Newcomer bands can apply again from now until 31st January 2016. Requirement: since Rockavaria is a festival in Munich, regional talents shall be in the focus of support. Thus, the bands who apply have to be situated in a circuit of 200km of Munich. This year's two winning bands, TUXEDOO and LEM MOTLOW, prove that a participation does pay off. For both, the dream of a performance at one of Germany's greatest festivals became true, both played on the Rockavaria Talent Stage in the Olympic hall this year. “We found out about it on Facebook”, say the Austrian “Alp Core” musicians of TUXEDOO. “At first we were a bit sceptic but then we realized that this contest is organised very fairly and that the main prize is incredible, who doesn't want to play at the Rockavaria.”
The organisers have made it their task again to promote newcomers with the contest. Since the contest victory, TUXEDOO have already signed record-, management- and booking deals and played numerous new shows. With their unique Austrian “Alps Core” they showed originality and harshness and convinced the jury with a harsh mix of traditional Thrash and modern Metalcore as well as their spectacular show presence. “A true dream came true. Suddenly, you're on the same stage as LIMP BIZKIT. You feel the incredible atmosphere. You make music for exactly those moments”, that's how the musicians describe the experience of their show at the Rockavaria. They want to give following advice to all future applicants: “Take a song or a video which shows as much as possible of you. The finale of the contest is already a badass experience. Enjoy it and be authentic. Just have fun, that's most important!”
The procedure will be similar to last year's: regional rock bands in the circuit of 200km of Munich can apply from now at Global Concerts, the organisers of the Rockavaria. 40 bands of all applications will be chosen for the online voting of the band contest. The ten bands with the most voices at the online voting will have to prove themselves in Munich's Backstage in front of an audience and jury on 16th April 2016. The deadline for applications, which can be sent via email and per post to Global Concerts, is the 31st January 2016.
