Over the last 10 years the landscape of the event calendar, especially looking at the gothic-scene, has changed significantly. Beside traditional touring, festivals have increasingly claimed their stakes in the live music scene.
Hence it ain´t merely just the good old summer open-airs anymore, prospering from a growing popularity, especially outside the „sunny season“, numerous festival highlights are appealing to a wide audience, providing great line-ups and the opportunity to experience various top-acts at the price of a single concert ticket. So it occurs that visitors from all parts of Germany and Europe feel invited to share a magnificent evening among the dark community, celebrating and enjoying marvellous live music.
The festival season 2010 however has turned into the big year of premieres. Framing the well established Amphi, Zita Rock und Christmas Ball festivals, we took a deep grasp into our box of tricks, spawning the all new Spring Ball, Autumn Ball und E-tropolis Festivals, each inspiring with distinct concept and its unique character.Tying all pieces together, we would like to give you a brief summary of what´s on the agenda, with our 2010 festival roster:
09. April 2010 - The Spring Ball Festival 2010 – Hannover, Capitol
New to the game, our festival season begins with the light-footed Spring Ball Festival at the Capitol Hannover. Four bands covering the genres of synth- and electropop deliver a spring fever of a musical kind. Beside NORTHERN LITE, headlining the show, the synth-grandmasters DE/VISION are up to present their forthcoming album „Popgefahr“, released in March 2010, while SONO and KLANGSTABIL prepare to mark a moody opening of the evening. After the live shows DJ Elvis (The Memphis) takes over the dancefloor with his highly acclaimed „Depeche Mode Party for the Living“. Ticket price: 24,00 € plus charges. 05. & 06. June 2010 - Zita Rock & Folk Festival 2010 – Berlin, Citadel
In 2010 our Zita Rock & Folk Festival delivers twice the dark rock power than before. Not only by the breathtaking scenery, the Citadel Spandau (Berlin), but also by its extended two day programme, including bands such as ASP, SUBWAY TO SALLY, EISBRECHER, LETZTE INSTANZ, TERMINAL CHOICE, SALTATIO MORTIS and many more, the Zita Rock & Folk Festival appears to be an impressive tower of strength. Faithful to the say „no fillers just killers“ the Zita Rock & Folk Festival delivers an open air spectacle of a high-profile line-up, combined with its extraordinary venue, providing the ideal opportunity for a short trip to the German capital Berlin. 26. June 2010 – E-tropolis Festival 2010 – Berlin, Citadel
The new E-tropolis Festival 2010 also builds on the visually impressive setting of the Citadel Spandau. Contrary to the Zita Rock & Folk Festival the E-tropolis raises the flag of the electronic scene, by fully dedicating itself to the world of machines and presenting a massive wall of sound created by seven of the highest acclaimed acts of the EBM-, Industrial- and Electropop-Scene. At the helm in 2010: HOCICO, COVENANT, COMBICHRIST, DAF, LEÆTHER STRIP, KMFDM as well as the latest addition PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF. 24. & 25. July 2010 – Amphi Festival 2010 - The Orkus Open Air – Cologne, Tanzbrunnen:
The undisputed champion of the festival summer 2010 waits again at the beautiful Tanzbrunnen Cologne. For the sixth time now the dark scene prepares to celebrate their family meeting at the fabulous venue to the shores of the Rhein river, Above the obligatory „see and to be seen”, the Amphi Festival 2010 attracts its worldwide audience with a strong line-up of irresistible blockbuster acts. A total of 34 bands from all over the world, including AND ONE, VNV NATION, ASP, SKINNY PUPPY, EISBRECHER, FRONTLINE ASSEMBLY, PROJECT PITCHFORK and many more ensures the ultimate festival experience, deep in the heart of urban Cologne.
As always the Amphi Festival also delivers by its rain-resistant venue, featuring large tulip weather shields, covering major parts of the main stage area, a wonderful beachclub, the record breaking shopping-mile and lots of interesting specials aside from the musical pleasures. 22. October 2010 – The Autumn Ball Festival 2010 – Hannover, Capitol:
Returning to the clubs on 22nd October, we welcome the golden autumn with a rousing ball night at the Capitol Hannover. OOMPH!, TANZWUT, QNTAL, STAUBKIND and one additional band are going to unleash a storm of dark heavy- rocking and mediaeval sounds with the Autumn Ball Festival 2010. 26. - 29. December – The Christmas Ball Festivals 2010 Hannover – Cologne – Würzburg – Berlin
Christmas time, that´s not just the time for big feelings and celebrations with the family, Christmas that´s also the best opportunity to herald the end of the year with delighting activities beyond the Christmas tree, taking a break from the worries of your daily life. Hence, following the known stations in Hannover, Cologne and Würzburg, the German capital Berlin joins the circle of the Christmas Ball Festival-tour, which in 2010 comprises the following dates:
26.12.2010 – Hannover, Capitol
27.12.2010 – Cologne, Theater am Tanzbrunnen
28.12.2010 – Würzburg, Posthalle
29.12.2010 – Berlin, Huxley´s Neue Welt
Established in 2007 the Christmas Ball Festivals always inspired their growing audience with the finest selection of scene-related top-acts. Following last year´s phenomenal success, 2010´s edition delivers the ultimate package, including FADERHEAD, AGONOIZE, LAIBACH, PROJECT PITCHFORK and the legendary FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, who signed in to headline the shows in Cologne, Würzburg and Berlin. Looking at Hannover a different headliner is waiting to start a massive Christmas party at the Capitol, meaning Fields Of The Nephilim will join the festival tour later in Cologne.
