The Gothic scene has shown to be one of the most imaginative and diverse streams in the contemporary world of music. Many modern acts and old heroes have proven how much more enthralling and manifold the musical spirit dwells aside from the common mainstream.
With the rise of the big scene open-airs and their blockbuster line-ups, also the wish of experiencing and exploring more young and fresh talents came to life and grew constantly bigger, in order to give these bands a chance to present themselves to a broad audience. With the AMPHI FESTIVAL NEW TALENTS SPECIAL this wish will finally be fulfilled. Who opens the Amphi Festival 2010 on the main stage?
That´s the question, which you are chosen to answer on Friday 23rd July 2010 at the Theater am Tanzbrunnen, when four young bands are going to rock for a charitable act, in support of 'Dunkelziffer e.V.', an association that supports victims of sexual abuse, and to compete for the last remaining slot of the Amphi Festival 2010. Details and participation conditions:
Place: Cologne
Venue: Theater am Tanzbrunnen
Date: 23rd July 2010
Wristband exchange: starting from 04:00 pm
Open doors: 07:00 pm
Start: 08:00 pm
End: around midnight / followed by the official 'Amphi Pre-Party' at the 'Alter Wartesaal'
Entrance: for visitors with a valid Amphi Festival ticket only!
The competition:
In the context of the AMPHI FESTIVAL NEW TALENTS SPECIAL four newcomer bands will be fighting in a competition of one against the other, for the last remaining slot on the Amphi Festival 2010. The winning band will be opening the Amphi Festival on the main stage on Saturday.
Participation:
From 1st May we will be auctioning one participation-slot on Ebay every week. The best offer at each auction will be awarded with one of four participation-slots. The running order of the competition results from the highest bid of all four auctions. The auction with the lowest bid will be opening the evening, the auction with the highest bid will mark the closure.
Participation requirements:
-a music style that is compatible to the Amphi Festival (i.e. Gothic, Electronic, Middle Ages, etc.)!
-no efforts above a debut album on an independent label have been released so far!
-you have to prove that you have already performed on stage in public!
Modus:
Each of the four bands gets 30 minutes of play time. At the end the audience will be deciding by hard cash! The band that collected the highest amount of money will be awarded with the last slot in the programme of the Amphi Festival 2010.
Returns:
The gains from the Ebay auction plus the collection of the evening will be divided as follows: One half will be covering the costs for the evening, the other half will be donated to the 'Dunkelziffer e.V.' an association that supports victims of sexual abuse.
