When STEVEN WILSON released his youngest record ‘Hand.Cannot.Erase’ (position three of the official record charts) the critics went head over heels. Nothing less than the return of progressive rock was cheered at there. The multi-instrumentalist has been making fantastic music for years, all his fans have known this for a long time. The founder, singer, guitarist and songwriter of Porcupine Pine and at least a half dozen of further bands and projects, this composer, arranger, lyricist, producer, remixer, restorer and label operator works with all possible sounds and styles after all. Is this still prog? Wilson only distinguishes between boring and exciting music. ‘Hand.Cannot.Erase’ belongs definitely to the second category.
