In this day and age female fronted metal bands are normal part of everyday life. They are so common, in fact, that it's a waste of breath making the distinction between them and bands with a hairy, ugly guy behind the microphone. There was a time, however, when the idea of a woman fronting a full-on metal band was dismissed by metal fans and press alike as absurd. The world accepted Doro Pesch fronting Warlock and Sabina Classen leading Holy Moses in the '80s, sure, but it wasn't until the rise of The 3rd And The Mortal, The Gathering and Theatre Of Tragedy in the early '90s that the movement towards equality in metal truly began.

Once, long time ago, there were a couple of bands that started the Belgium industrial scene. Together with FRONT 242 and THE NEON JUDGEMENT we saw THE KLINIK with their clean and hard beats. The minimum lyrics had always a certain paranoia that influenced a lot of other bands since.

Richmond, VA genre-destroying metallers INTER ARMA are set to release a brand new, 40+ minute, single song EP entitled The Cavern this Fall. Originally written during the summer of 2009, but reworked and perfected over the last few years, The Cavern was recorded last year during breaks from the relentless touring the band did with the likes of Baroness, Russian Circles, Ulcerate and numerous others. The recording was captured with producer Mikey Allred at Dark Art Studios in Madison, TN, the same surroundings and setup that captured last year's monolithic Sky Burial LP. - Details
