On 5th May The Rifles return with their new single ‘All I Need’ - a heart-warming, West Coast-style folk-rock nugget, released on Cooking Vinyl. ‘All I Need’ follows the release of their recent album ‘None the Wiser, which reached number 21 in the UK album charts. With a huge, loyal fanbase and genuine top-class songwriting talent, The Rifles have long outlived many of their original peers. Both the single and album mark yet another raising of the bar from the band with a broadened musical palette and brilliantly crafted rock & roll, with an added dose of folk, a strong pop sensibility and timeless songs that meld elements of The Kinks, The Byrds, Dylan, Doves and Television.

SOUNDGARDEN was one of the seminal bands in the creation of grunge, a style of alternative rock that developed in Seattle.

American heavy metal band HUNTRESS has hit the stage at venue 013 several times before and each time with great success. As support of DRAGONFORCE and LAMB OF GOD, the band showed the Dutch audience what they’re made of. The band's style has been characterized as classic heavy metal with influences of thrash and doom metal inspired by MERCIFUL FATE and KING DIAMOND. The songs feature frequent screaming by eccentric lead singer Janus who has a vocal range of four octaves. After ‘Spell Eater’ (2012) and ‘Starbound Beast’ (2013) HUNTRESS took their inspiration back into the studio for another album, of which the result can be heard this evening.

The 19th edition of Graspop Metal Meeting takes place from 27th to 29th June in Dessel, Belgium. Over the years an impressive list of bands have played at this famous metal festival. The event was not originally a heavy metal festival; rather, it was conceived as a local family festival. In 1995, the headliners billed were JOE COCKER and SIMPLE MINDS.
