SAGA formed in the year 1977 and from the very beginning there was something unique and distinctive about the sound they presented. They wouldn't have to wait long before first successes popped up with such grandiose albums as 'Images at Twilight' or 'Worlds Apart' storming and conquering radio charts world wide. With their by the time futuristic melange of classic , pop and rock elements to a truly epic sound, the band earned highest critical praise and the fan base continued growing year by year, especially in Germany after coming over there touring as support for the band STYX for the first time ever. After a period of dormancy the band celebrated a triumphant comeback with the release of their ninth album 'The Security of Illusion' in 1993'.

For 10 years East German Dark-Wave-Electro-project Absurd Minds of singer Stefan Grossman have played on national and international stages. Started as a home studio project by Tilo Ladwig and Stefan Grossman, the way of the band rapidly changed in 1999 with their first gig at the scene club "Bunker" in Dresden: They ended up with a label contract on "Scanner" by Frank d'Angelo. Even the first release, the 2000's album "Deception", struck with great force into the heart of the dark scene. Several albums and singles have been released in the following years. Based on their initial success and the progress they had made, they were given a permanent place in the alternative music scene.

While the German Olympia participants get one medal after the other in Canada, the AREA4 festival secured the country's biggest Rock export: BILLY TALENT who have conquered the hearts of German Alternative Rock fans for good with their recent album and arena tours will be on stage when the festival is taking place from 20th to 22nd August 2010 at Borkenberge Airfield in Lüdinghausen. Furthermore CALIBAN, DONOTS and PARKWAY DRIVE enrich this year's program.- Details
