When we read the news yesterday, we could not believe it. His band mate Robert Görl spread the sad news on Facebook at the evening. He was just informed that his friend and band mate Gabi died in the night of 22nd March. Short time later, we got the official confirmation by DAF’s booking agency WOD: “Gabriel Delgado Lopez, the singer and co-founder of Deutsch-Amerikanischen Freundschaft (DAF) died on the evening of March 22nd, 2020, completely unexpectedly at the age of 61.”“With their sound, DAF were the pioneers of different musical styles: from EBM to House to Techno. Always creative and provocative, never compliant, with unforgettable hits like ‘Der Mussolini’, ‘Der Räuber und der Prinz’ or ‘Alles ist gut‘. The music scene loses one of its most influential musicians and creative minds.”
