After 7 years of existance and almost 130 releases, Dependent Records will issue its final releases in September and October. Dependent announced the decision to close down back in January 2007 in a long essay inside the booklet of "Dependence Vol. 2", – explaining the reasons that lead label-founder Stefan Herwig to take this decision. Apart of the already announced
new albums by Pride & Fall and Mind.in.a.box, so far there will be 3 additional confirmed releases. First there is Edge Of Dawn with the "Borderline - Black Heart" MCD. The new EP features various new versions of the title-track, selected
remixes of album tracks (by Fractured, Stromkern and others) and also some new material, including a new song feat. a duet with Charlene April of
Blind Faith and Envy.
Next is Rotersand with the "I Cry" MCD/digiMCD+DVD taken from their current
album "1023". The MCD will be released in two formats: a regular MCD including more versions of "I Cry" plus some new material. A special edition will come in a deluxe, limited digipak including a bonus-DVD, containing exclusive Rotersand live-material and more. Finally there is also the
new CD from Dismantled: "When I'm Dead". With Dismantled's album the chapter closes for good for Dependent.
