UNHEILIG - New album, tour news & US releases

The wait is over. At the end of February 2008, UNHEILIG will finally release their new album ‘Puppenspiel’, which is - thematically - the consequent continuation of what has begun with the last album ‘Moderne Zeiten’. Again the count dedicates himself to the human concerns and needs, often referred to autobiographic events from the past and the present and transfers it to the world of puppetry. The puppetry as a special form of acting was a very special challenge for the count on this conceptual album. He is able to play both, the part of the puppet master, who acts on the story and the part of the animated artefact, which is staged and bound to rigid mechanisms.

UNHEILIG also deals with the complete bandwidth of puppetry. Elements of the ancient are used, the archaic presentation of heaven and hell, good and evil of the medieval age, the romanticism of the 19th century and from the educational staging. In comparison to the previous album UNHEILIG took a lot more time for the details and doesn't leave anything to chance. Content-wise, production-wise as well as optical, ‘Puppenspiel’ is clearer than ever. The guitars are more present than ever before, the voice is more thrilling and more punchy and the overall picture much clearer than before. Never before, UNHEILIG presented a comparable musical bandwidth. ‘Puppenspiel’ is a sincere, honest and straight album that combines bass, beat and guitar driven songs and breathtaking, emotional ballads. Over all those things like the different lyrical and musical elements, which never get caught in a corset of practicability stands the distinctive voice of the count and adds the definite and unique note to the album.
