SPV & WACKEN RECORDS - announce joint-venture

A joint-venture of a very special kind shall bring a fresh wind into the metal scene: The labels SPV and Wacken Records announce the immediate collaboration marketing, promotion and worldwide distribution. Wacken Records (Formerly known under the name Armageddon Music) will be integrated into the SPV system, but will remain an independent corporation, that will benefit from the international contacts and the long-standing experiences of its partner. SPV will get another forum to specifically discover, advance and market newcomers.

SPV is considered one of the most important rock and metal labels worldwide and has top acts like WHITESNAKE, MOTÖRHEAD, SAXON, ICED EARTH, HELLOWEEN or TYPE O NEGATIVE under contract. Wacken Records brings - among others - ROSE TATTOO, VICTORY, ONKEL TOM ANGELRIPPER, HOLY MOSES as well as the extremely hopeful newcomers SUIDAKRA and FOREVER SLAVE into the cooperation. The label also owns the merchandising corporation ‘Metallix’ and the tour company ICS which is not only responsible for the Wacken Open Air but also for the Wacken Road Show and the Metal-Battle Tour Concept. Especially among those aspects Olly Hahn, international product manager at SPV  in the area “Rock/Metal” expects a fertile cooperation, established bands but first of all newcomers will benefit from. “With this co operational contract we respond to the changes on the market. This way, the strengths of the SPV Ltd and the company Wacken records in correspondence with Metallix and ICS will be bundled. This results in new marketing structures for young bands to get a foothold in the world of Heavy Metal.”
