Unbelievable! It feels like this year has only just begun. But Easter is already over and we are nearly running out of time. The good thing about this is it's not that long until we all meet up again in Dinkelsbuehl.
With high pressure we are currently working on the travelling situation. Last year's jam we want to avoid, of course. Therefore we will do the car checks on the street. This way we stay independent from any weather changes. But then again we have to consider that probably as many people as last year will show up. To really change the situation for the better we do need your help. In 2008 we will have to restrict the chance of leaving the camping area by car. One of the many reasons for the traffic jam was certainly the fact that a lot of people left the site again by car for shopping or whatever reason. So we assume it's in everybody's interest that this year it's not possible until Thursday afternoon. The bus shuttling again between the festival site and the city of Dinkelsbuehl will give you the opportunity to go downtown and that is even for free. Therefore please bear with us.
We'd like to advise you to arrive in time to make sure you will not miss anything due to the traffic. Like in previous years the access to the camping area is not possible before 10 am. Being there sooner means you will have to wait as entering the site would be too risky due to works on the site until the very last minute. We will certainly change for the better but avoiding the jam at all is our aim. But possible waiting times can be reduced appreciably. To make this happen is also up to each and everyone of you!
Most of this year's bands are confirmed. But we still haven't finished booking. The final running order will be online from mid June/ beginning of July on at our homepage (www.summer-breeze.de)!

Like last year the newcomer contest will take place in the party tent on Wednesday, August 13th. We are currently picking the best 20 from the tons of letters we have received. The voting on www.newcomer-stage.de will start shortly! More info to be announced in good time.
Right after the contest the Metal Blade label night will take place. Beginning at 08 pm ANIMA, LAY DOWN ROTTEN, FLESHCRAWL, HAIL OF BULLETS, THE ROTTED and BORN FROM PAIN will put you in the right mood for a massive open air weekend.
This year the entrance area to the festival site will be slightly changed. Crossing the ditch will be somewhere different not so steeply.
Many of you have been right to complain about that. Due to this the retail strip will be changed, too. You will have more space to do shopping. So come and take pot luck.
Again we'd like to draw your attention to the strict glass prohibition which is not that new anymore. Countless crown caps and shards as well as the results during the car checks clearly prove: many of you still keep ignoring this rule. For the SUMMER BREEZE it is of vital importance to leave the entire site in a clean condition. Please stick to this rule. We know Whiskey does not taste out of a paper cup and beer not out of a plastic mug. But there are options. For the same reason it is also important to clean your part of the camping site and tidy it up before you leave. That means for instance to take all camping nails you have brought back home.
Now something on our own account. Most of you depart on Sunday and that's it. But for us the SUMMER BREEZE takes longer at least an entire week. Cleaning up is what keeps us busy. Therefore we need hands. So when you want to earn back the cash you have spent for tickets, travelling, merchandise, food or beer during the festival days just reply. The work is rather tiring as the site is quite big and the weather we do not care about. Dinner and lunch are on house and the work will be paid for. Some hot advise to start off the festival season this weekend: The 6th SUNDOWN FESTIVAL will take place Friday, May 2nd at the Kochertalmetropole (by the old Summer Breeze site) in Abtsgmuend. More info to be found at http://www.sundownfestival.de/! As always a special program will be delivered to you. Headlining positions will be filled by SODOM and PAIN to name just a few.
