THE VERVE, Richard Ashcroft (vocals), Simon Jones (bass), Nick McCabe (guitar) and Peter Salisbury (drums) release their first single in over ten years on Friday 1st August 2008. Entitled 'Love Is Noise', the single is released on Capitol/EMI Music and is their first single release since 1998's ‘Sonnet’. To hear ‘Love Is Noise’ go to www.myspace.com/thevervetv.Produced by the band and recorded at State Of The Ark and Metropolis studio in London, 'Love Is Noise' will surprise and thrill even the most ardent Verve fan and looks set to become an anthem for 2008. The single is taken from their new album ‘Forth’ which is due for release on Friday 15th August 2008.
After finishing the record earlier this year the band went straight into an international tour, including a triumphant appearance at the Coachella festival in the US where 'Love Is Noise' went down a storm as the set closer. Only for a short time you’ll be able to watch the video to the new single on MySpace. The video was directed by Sam brown who already worked for renowned artists such as FOO FIGHTERS, JAMES BLUNT and CORINNE BAILEY RAE. Watch it here:
