Already during the festival season 2008, the Hamburg-based drinking water initiative VIVA CON AQUA had the chance to conduct its action ‘Your Deposit for Water’ on 5 FKP Skorpio festivals, gathering donations in the amount of 20.000 EUR this year, used for drinking water projects in emerging nations. The successful partnership is extended with a cooperation agreement until 2011.Cups for Wells
In the frame of the action, VIVA CON AQUA gives the audience in 2009 the chance - on the FKP Skorpio festivals Hurricane, Southside, M’era Luna, Chiemsee Reggae Summer, Highfield and Area4 - to turn their cups into drinking water. There’s a cup deposit collected for all beverages, bought on the festivals. All attendees can donate their cups to the drinking water initiative VIVA CON AQUA with putting them into special deposit boxes that will be build up on the festival grounds. At the end of the festival, VIVA CON AQUA gets the deposit value for every donated cup in cash. Festival Soccer Cups
Furthermore, Viva Con Aqua, together with the FKP Scorpio festivals and the Bolzen magazine participate in soccer cups happening on the festivals. The games take place on Saturday of every festival weekend. Everyone can apply, eight teams will be chosen on each festival for the respective tournaments. Applications can be made here: http://www.festival-soccer-cup.de/ . The teams, winning one tournament will take on each other at the Area4 festival in the end. The winner of this tournament plays against the Viva Con Aqua team. Spear head of the tournament is a long-time supporter of Viva Con Aqua, the soccer player Marcel Eger (http://www.marceleger.de/).
Mutual Drinking Water & Climate Protection Projects
FKP Scorpio and Viva Con Aqua are planning on doing financing partnerships for concrete drinking water projects to facilitate the social engagement to a large public. To organize all events under environmentally friendly aspects, Viva Con Aqua and FKP Scorpio want to realise mutual climate protection projects.
