Austria. Our much loved neighbour state in the past years often was the victim of sarcasm:’ Football’, to name one specific thing. And now a band from Graz attempts to bring the friendship of these two countries to a new level as GUADALAJARA built up a remarkable fundament through constant touring with their ‘Brassrock’, reacting with sheer enthusiasm to the live performances of “Austria’s most dangerous wind ensemble”. And on 13th February 2009, the current album ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’ will be released in Germany as well. Ska and Punk might have been the ground work back then, but in the meantime they’ve audibly evolved or in own words “It’s only musical socialisation”. Musical socialisation? A possible golden threat piercing through the 12 tracks on ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction’, a compound of sounds, stylistic elements and traits of the music from the 90s, their generation was influenced by in one or the other way; and it sounds like this.
