In their fourth year as a band THE TING TINGS had their commercial breakthrough in 2008 with a #1 single ‘That’s Not My Name’ and album ‘We Started Nothing’. Katie White and Jules De Martini not only ruled the British charts but also the headlines of music press. The popularity with fans and music critics showed up eventually in the ‘Award Season’. Amongst others THE TING TINGS for one or several MTV, Q-, NME, and Brit Awards; a sensational success for the duo from Manchester, having joined its forces after frustrating experiences with the music business as expressed counter draft to smooth British pop. The duo also found many new fans in Germany thanks to various great concerts and gained both the album and the single top positions in the Media Control Charts.

With ‘Shut Up And Let Me Go’ now follows the next single. Some may recognize the funky party stomper, reaching #6 of Great Britain’s single charts from last year’s IPod commercials. The video accompanying the new single has been created under the direction of Alex and Liane (Factory Films, already shot clips for Milka, Deichkind, Bloc Party, Tocotronic, Sam Sparro) and gained the duo a nomination for the MTV Video Music Awards 2008.
